Please can you tell us a little bit about you and your brand? Hello, I am Tommy. I am a coach, singer, and writer with 15+ years of experience helping people connect with their innate voice and bring their talents to the main stage. I work with founders, emerging leaders, and creative seekers to build a bold vision and lead with their full voice. Please can you tell us about your inspiration for your business? Yes! I spent 10+ years working as a professional singer and vocal coach. During studying a teaching and learning qualification, I learnt some simple coaching tools and I was hooked. I realised how much I had been doing this work with my vocal students and wanted to bring coaching more to the front and centre of how I was supporting people. What is the ethos behind your brand? Voice is power. When we connect to our innate voice - spoken, creative and intuitive - we become clear, build our confidence, and feel connected. I want everyone to be able to lead their life with their true voice, thoughts, and feelings at the front and centre of their decisions, the actions they take, and the changes they make. What is the most enjoyable thing about your business? Ooof, where do I start! Seeing someone connecting with excitement - that might be because they have had a penny drop moment, they feel really inspired, they know what to do next, or that everything is clicking into place so they feel at ease and confident in themselves. I love how creativity and being in nature are at the heart of my business so I get to connect with that in my day-to-day. What are your top tips for anyone wanting to start their own creative business? Trust yourself. Connect with your own creativity regularly. It’s where the clarity lives. If you can BE creative daily you’ll find the answers to questions, you’ll find your inspiration, and you’ll be able to share your work with such confidence. It’s all about how you feel being in it and when that feels good, it will radiate from you. How do you get yourself out of any creative slumps? Do something different. If I want to write but it feels sticky, I’ll look to a different creative medium to get my juices flowing. So I might start the day with a walk in nature and take my time to notice. Or if I want to sing or song write but I am feeling weighed down by overwhelming and overthinking, I’ll listen to some of my favourite songs and maybe even have a little dance. Shift the energy! What songs feature most on your playlist for when you are working? I can’t always listen to music when I work as I am very sensitive to sound. If I am having a conversation and background music is on a smidge too loud, I can’t go on until I’ve turned it down! Saying that, I have seasonal playlists that I use in my vision board workshops and they are great for when you are playing around with something. I have my summer playlist on as I write and I am enjoying Too Sweet by Hozier. It’s working for me! What do you like doing in your downtime away from your business?
It’s a tricky question as so much of what I love is wrapped up in my business. Anything that I do creatively that I enjoy boosts my work. But away from all of that would be wild swimming and eating delicious food with the people I love the most. What is next for your business? I continue to host my seasonal vision board workshops at Happydashery. I also have my retreat day Blueprint Your Season coming up. I am also working with companies to support their leaders and teams in building their voice and vision. Please add in any other comments that you would like to about you and your brand.
